Death Stranding 2 PC Launch Brings New Modes, Frame Generation, and Pre-Order Perks

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach hits PC March 19, 2026 with new modes, features, ultrawide support, and pre-order bonuses.

I’ve been absolutely chomping at the bit for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to land on PC, and now we finally have the goods. Kojima Productions confirmed the PC version arrives March 19th, 2026, and they’re not just giving us a lazy port. A PlayStation Blog update from Jay Boor, head of publishing, spelled out that new modes and features are coming to both PC and PS5 at launch—and yeah, I’m all ears.

Before you let your hype train completely leave the station, let’s break down what’s actually on the table. Boor said the new modes and features will offer ‘new challenges and rewards.’ The studio didn’t dish out the full blueprint, but the wording suggests we probably shouldn’t expect a Director’s Cut-level expansion. Think of it more like a little extra spice for your next delivery run—maybe some difficulty options or side challenges rather than a whole new campaign. I’m okay with that, honestly. Sometimes you just want a reason to jump back into the world without starting from zero.

Now, the PC-specific stuff is where things get juicy. 😋

💻 PC tech features at a glance

  • Upscaler support for Nvidia, AMD, and Intel GPU users—so whether you’re Team Green, Team Red, or Team Blue, you should be covered.

  • Frame Generation support, which pairs beautifully with the game’s uncapped frame rates. If you have the hardware, smooth is the name of the game.

  • Ultrawide support for 21:9 and 32:9 aspect ratios with 4K-quality visuals. I can already picture those Icelandic black beaches stretching across a massive monitor.

  • Full mouse and keyboard controls, plus DualSense-specific perks like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback on PC.

  • 3D Audio support via Dolby Access, DTS Sound Unbound, and Windows Sonic for Headphones. The sound design in these games is already incredible, so this is a huge win.

Let’s talk pre-orders, because I know some of you are already reaching for your wallet. 💸 Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is up for pre-order now on Steam and Epic Games Store. You’ve got two editions: Standard and Digital Deluxe.

Edition What you get
Standard Custom Quokka Hologram early unlock, plus silver versions of the Battle, Boost, and Bookka Skeletons at levels 1–3
Digital Deluxe Everything from Standard, plus the Machine Gun [MP] (Lv.1) early unlock, patches 70, 71, and 72 (Quokka, Chiral Cat, and Why Me?), and gold versions of the same three skeleton types at levels 1–3

The Deluxe extras are more about personality and flash than a massive power boost, but if you’re the type who loves flexing rare cosmetics while hauling cargo, those gold skeletons and patches are pretty tempting.

There’s also a sentimental side to this update. Kojima Productions recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, and Boor took a moment to thank the community. He said they couldn’t have come this far without the support of the many porters who have walked the path with them, and gave a heartfelt thank you to everyone. As someone who has been delivering packages and pondering the meaning of connection since the first game, that hit home. 🖤

If you’re still on the fence, keep in mind that the PS5 version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach already landed last year and earned a rare 10/10 score from the reviewers who covered it. The PC port seems to be getting the royal treatment too, so March 19th, 2026 is shaping up to be a very good day for PC players.

For me, the real standout is the combination of ultrawide support, frame generation, and DualSense features on PC. That’s the kind of polish that makes a port feel like a first-class experience. Add in the new modes and features for both platforms, and there’s plenty of reason to keep an eye on this one.

So yeah, mark your calendars, porters. Keep on keeping on. 👍
